Working Party on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
The Working Party on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is established under the Council of the European Union. The working party tracks, monitors and reviews the internal and external implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development across policy sectors at EU level. The Working Party also provides a forum for exchange of information on implementation at Member State level.
The Working Party addresses overarching cross-cutting issues related to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and assesses progress made in implementing the SDGs at EU level in an integrated and coherent manner.
In line with the Council Conclusions on “A sustainable European Future: The EU response to the 2030 Agenda for
Sustainable Development” of 20 June 2017, the Working Party helped to ensure a systematic, effective, participatory, transparent and integrated follow-up and review of the implementation of the SDGs at EU level in order to monitor progress, assess achievements and ensure accountability.
The Working Party also plays a leading role in coordinating and developing common EU approaches and positions, in coordination with other relevant EU institutions, with regard to relevant international dialogues, processes and fora on sustainable development in which the EU and its Member States are or will be participating, in particular in the UN framework.
Representatives of EU Member States are members of the Working Party and representatives of the European External Action Service and the European Commission also participate in its meetings.
Eurostat
Monitoring the implementation of the 2030 Agenda is dealt with by the Statistical Office of the European Union, which publishes annual reports on the status of the SDGs in the EU. However, it also addresses how Member States are contributing to the SDGs and how they are performing, which is part of the Country Reports in the European Semester spring package. For all the reports and more information, see online.
Eurostat also runs an interactive SDGs&Me platform where you can find out online about the status of indicators in Member States.

As a platform for learning and exchange of experiences, the ESDN Association is primarily concerned with issues related to the preparation and implementation of national strategies and processes serving the implementation of international commitments related to sustainable development, in particular the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The association also promotes pan-European dialogue and exchange of experiences on sustainable development practices and provides advice to policy makers at European, national and sub-national levels. ESDN has more than 400 members and partners coming from over 40 countries.
